Make a $30 Mash Tun...
Start with a $12 5-gallon round beverage cooler (actual cooler at left). Add a few brass & plastic fittings and you make a mash tun for only a few bucks.
The brass ball valve cost $4.00 from the Habitat for Humanity thrift shop.
The stainless steel braid started out as a water heater hose (remove the inner plastic hose). Cost at the Habitat for Humanity thrift shop - $4.00. The other parts shown here are the 1/2 inch brass hose barb that the braid fits over.
You can't see the 1/2 brass pipe nipple that is in the wall of the cooler between the inside and outside.
The plastic nut (with rubber gasket) is part of a Danco 1/2" Faucet Rosette Washer & Nut set (Lowe's). The washer is on the outside of the cooler.
